Mission

We are dedicated to providing opportunities for the students to learn skills in acting, writing, directing, producing and additional industry experience that will assist them in finding work in the film and television industry. This program will teach them leadership/life skills, build self-confidence, and enhance their performance as students, performing artists, and athletes. In addition, we are committed to providing the students with a reason and the motivation to stay off the streets and engage in life.

"One Shot One Life."

Simultaneously, we will be preparing these students for the opportunity to participate and work on the first of several student run, full length feature films that will be released by Fighting Chance. The students will have the opportunity to contribute on the film and participate in the pre and post production process. We will produce, film and teach in the heart of Coachella Valley.

Goals

Fighting Chance is dedicated to educating, motivating, creating and giving back to the youth of Coachella Valley and surrounding areas.

01.

Educate

We are going to teach the students how to act, write, direct, produce and additional industry skills. This experience will assist them in finding work in the film and television industry. In addition, we will teach them leadership/life skills, build self-confidence, and enhance their performance as students, performing artists, and athletes.

02.

Motivate

We are committed to providing the students with the motivation to stay off the streets and engage in life. One Shot. One Life.

03.

Locate & Create

We will prepare these students with the opportunity to participate and work on the first of several student run, full length feature films that will be released by Fighting Chance. These students will have the opportunity to contribute on the film and participate in the pre and post production process.

04.

Give Back

We will produce, film and teach in the heart of Coachella Valley. We want to give back to the community by providing local talent with the opportunity to refine their skills and participate in film projects.

History

Brendan wrote, directed and produced the film Jane and the House of Miracles. He mentored over forty youth to find the group of young teens that were dedicated enough to see the film through. The film featured 10 teens from Coachella Valley.  The film received multiple awards and it is the project that inspired Brendan to continue growing the Fighting Chance Program.

During the production of Jane and the House of Miracles combined with over a decade of working with at risk youth, Brendan became passionate about making film with local teens. He realized there is a lot of untapped talent in the Coachella Valley. He wants to motivate them to get more out of life and harness them with skills they can use in school and their future workplace. He will continue to remind the youth he mentors and teaches, "Never Quit. Never Give Up. Never Throw in the Towel."
